Me and some comrades were sitting around the Office the other day discussing what we would buy certain celebrities for their birthdays. The topic turned to American Idol contestants and I had to pipe in about things I think Jason Yeager could use.

For one, I don't think he needs any new clothing, as the ones he wore on the show was very nice. I picture Jason as the type of guy who loves to be out in the public, sitting around chatting wit people at Starbucks. Hey, I'm sure he'd love a starbucks gift card!

The other possibilities are a Wal-Mart gift card. Jason seems like a Wal-Mart type of guy. Down to Earth and sensible. Of course, he probably drives a cool car, so some serious tune accessories or something to trick out his ride would be good also.

Of course, a new iPod is something I'm sure he'd find use for. Also, I would imagine a gift certificate to Fry's or a music warehouse store would come in handy as well. So what would you buy Jason Yeager for his birthday?

Okay, I poked fun at Jason Yeager in my last post, but seriously, what is this Kid doing now? I imagine him having a full time tech job somewhere and being a Piano player in the evenings in some smokey Blues bar wearing John Lennon sunglasses.

You have to hand it to him, he's got a lot of talent. His singing isn't the best, but by far there are recording artist out there that have way worse voices as far as I'm concerned.

I guess I'll have to go to Google and search for more info on Jason Yeager. Whatever he's doing, it's my guess that he's doing a great job at it and loving it.

I wouldn't mind seeing him show up on American Idol and belt out a few songs like some of last year's contestants have done. I think people would see a whole nother side of Jason Yeager if they would bring him back for a short time. I'm sure he's had some coaching since last year's show.

Jason Yeager is a very talented and gifted artist, but good enough for the Top 12? It remains to be seen whether or not Jason Yeager is good enough to make American Idol's Top 12.

We all know that Jason is a nice guy and great husband and father. A Reporter asked him in a recent media interview if he could give other people going through what he is some marriage advice to keep their marriage strong while in a stressful situation. Now that's a good guy!

A Few Things Jason Yeager Will Have To Do

Jason Yeager will have to sing like never before. Song selection is critical and choosing the wrong song will send Jason Yeager home from the American Idol competition.

Not only is the song selection critical, but Jason Yeager will have to be at her best. As there are only a few true amateurs in the Top 24, this will make it harder for Jason Yeager to reach the top 12.

It's no secret any longer that most of the Top 24 American Idol competitors have had either previous recording contracts or professional experience. This is something Jason Yeager as well as the other American Idol contenders will have to deal with.

What Do The American Idol Viewers Like?

American Idol is really about contemporary Pop music. That is the most popular music played today and that's where the money is and American Idol knows this. This is why country singers, Blues and Rock singers have all had a hard time making it into the Top 12. They're trying to sing songs that they are not familiar or comfortable with. I believe Chris Daughtery is a fine example. He probably made it further than any other Non-Pop singer and by all rights, was by far the best of all of Season 6 competitors. So how did Taylor Hicks win? Because he had a better stage performance than Chris and could sing popular songs while doing it. Look at where Chris is now at the top of the charts. It's been stated that Taylor Hicks has just lost his contract. If Jason Yeager wants to make it to the top, song selection and stage performance had better please the younger Pop loving generation.

All in all, Jason Yeager has a pretty good chance of making American Idol's Top 12. If you're a fan of Jason Yeager, you need to get on the phone each week and vote to make sure it happens. Only time will tell whether or not Jason Yeager is in the Top 12.

Jason Yeager advanced in American Idol's competition into the Top 24. Jason Yeager was one of the favorites and easily won the spot in the Top 24 American Idol list.

The next step for Jason Yeager and other American Idol hopefuls is the competiton rounds leading up to American Idol's Top 12. Unlike previous American Idol competition's, these are voted on by you the viewer, not determined by the judges. No one doubts that Jason Yeager has what it takes to make the American Idol top 12. All that stands in the way is a poor performance or poor song choice, or perhaps even a bad night by the judges.

Jason Yeager certainly has a bank of songs to choose from. However, as we've seen in the past, some American Idol hopefuls do a poor job of choosing songs and this could be Jason Yeager's downfall on the American Idol stage.

Jason Yeager will need the smooth yet powerful voice to help advance in the competition, no doubt. And let’s face it. There have been American Idol contestants in the past who’ve made it a long ways in the compeition that wasn’t as talented as Jason Yeager. But we all know that sometimes it’s not the most talented that go on to the final 12 in American Idol competition, sometimes it’s nothing more than a local favorite getting their hometown (or home state or home country…read Sanjiya) to vote for them.

Jason Yeager has what it takes to make it to the Top 3 in the American Idol competition, the only question mark at this time is can it be done with a fickle crowd and can the song choices and performances go off without a hitch?

We’ll just have to turn on American Idol and watch American Idol every week to see if Jason Yeager can wow the fans of American Idol.
